Sincere Malik Melvin

Sincere Malik Melvin, born on November 9,2000 in Salisbury, Maryland, was a vibrant soul. As a child he loved basketball, riding his power wheel and playing with his family and friends. His infectious laughter and playful spirit made him well-known and cherished by all. At the age of 8, Sincere lived primarily with his mother after his father relocated to Florida. However, signs of depression emerged when he was 12, and he continued to battle this internal struggle until he turned 17..
Sincere attended schools in Wicomico County and Howard County, ultimately graduating rom from Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City, MD, as an Honors Student on May 29, 2018. His brilliance extended beyond the classroom; he was an avid reader and had . just embarked on his college journey at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. There he pursued a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with a minor in Mathematics. Sincere’s potential was evident, and he held the distincton of being a Meyerhoff Scholar and a recipient of the Distinguished Scholar Award.
Tragically, on July 11, 2018, Sincere completed suicide, passing away the following day at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. His memory lives on, and his impact continues through the Sincere2000 Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting others in their struggles.
